Thank you voters, volunteers and contributors for giving me the privilege to serve again, first in the State House and now in the State Senate. Your work made this possible. It is that simple. I am so grateful to and for you.
Ten years ago upon being diagnosed with Leukemia my future was far from certain. Now this year my health is good, I celebrated my tenth wedding anniversary with Shari, my daughter Jessica graduated from college and I am Senator-elect—wow, absolutely remarkable. I am thankful, lucky and blessed.
Now it is time to take up the difficult and critical work of getting our state back on track. To keep our hope, be persistent, to work smart and hard and come back stronger like I have been fortunate enough to do. So our state is a place where people can have a good job and the new energy economy thrives. Where people have the opportunity for a first class, adequately funded, education. Where people breathe clean air, drink clean water and have the opportunity to get out on the land to rejuvenate.
Fired up, ready to go! How about you? WE can do this too.
